RedMax® Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can't find a dealer in my area?

Please contact us. We'll do everything we can to answer any questions you may have about our products and offer options for shipping products to you.

Where should I go for service for my RedMax equipment?

First, try calling your nearest dealer. They'll be able to answer many of your questions and offer service and advice on RedMax products. Our dealer locator has phone numbers as well as addresses for dealers. Of course, you may also contact us by phone or email for service questions.

Which dealers carry which tools (or accessories)?

In brief, they all carry everything we offer. We work hard to ensure that our distribution system allows our tools to get where they need to be, so even if a dealer is sold out of an item, he can usually have what you want within 24 hours.

Why does the site look strange?

We've tried to bring you the best experience we can in designing this site while making the content accessible to everyone. To that end, we've joined the growing number of sites using CSS to provide most of the layout for our site. Therefore, some older browsers may not support some or all of the features we've implemented. Although the site may look different on older browsers, the information should be accessible by everyone.

Why can't I see the fuel calculator?

Most of the Flash used in the site has been designed in such as way as to be backward-compatible with Flash 5. However, the complexity of the fuel calculator requires the latest Flash Player (version 9).

What is the advantage of 2-Stroke vs. 4-Stroke engines?
2 Stroke engines have far fewer moving parts than their 4-stroke counterparts and therefore have less possible breakage. 2 Stroke engines also require far less maintenance then 4 Stroke engines. 2 Stroke engines can also be used at any angle without trouble, this isn't true for some 4 Stroke engines.

The only real advantage that 4 stroke technology had over 2 Stroke was fuel efficiency but with our patented Strato-ChargedTM technology that is no longer the case.

Which is more important for a blower, windspeed or cfm?
In short, neither is better. Both are an important part of the equasion that determines a blowers effectiveness. A simple way think about it is to imagine you have 500mph windspeed coming out of a straw and 100mph windspeed coming from a jet engine. Which do you think will be more effective at blowing off your driveway?

CFM is basically how much volume can be pushed and windspeed is how hard it can be pushed. If both numbers are high then more than likely you will like the performance of your blower.

What does having a solid steel drive shaft do for me?

The rigidness of the solid steel driveshaft means more power from the engine gets transferred to the cutting head making your job easier and more efficient. Cable or flexible shafts have a certain amount of flex that is inherent to their design. This flex bleeds off some of the energy during accelleration and use..
